TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 29:29
“The secret things belong to the lord our God, but the
things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow
all the words of the law”.
A secret is something known to one or very few people, God
has many things that He kept from man. Every good and perfect thing comes from
God. Nobody can come up with any idea, plan and invention without inspiration
from God; it is God that gives inspiration for people to do things that would
bring them out to limelight.
God has a lot of good idea, and revelation that he wants
to reveal to His children to make them great. We need to always be in His
presence for Him to reveal His great secret to us, so that we can be
transported to a greater height. Many people are making the mistake of not
giving the glory back to God, after getting a new idea or revelation. They see
no reason why they should attribute it to God because they think it is their
own wisdom that made them to think of that very thing. Our text says “the
things revealed to us belong to us and our children…. This means that any idea
or revelation you have is from God and is given to you so that you can make use
of it gloriously for you and your children to benefit of it. Be wise to know
that the idea and revelation you have now is being revealed to you by God,
don’t be too arrogant to acknowledge Him so that He can reveal more ideas to
you.
Amos 3:7 says the lord does not do anything without
revealing it to His prophets. God tells His children what will happen in
future, the gift to see vision is from God who owns all secret things. He
delights in showing to us some of His secrets either through vision or dream.
Never see yourself as a “super being” if this gift is
functioning in your life, ascribe the glory to Him. In Daniel 2 King
Nebuchadnezzar had a dream; he called all the astrologer, magicians, sorcerers,
and enchanters to interpret his dream. They were unable to interpret it because
God did not reveal it to them. (This confirms that the secret things belong to
God). Daniel was able to interpret the King’s dream because the lord revealed
it to him. Daniel and his friends sought the face of God, and during the night
the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision (Daniel 2:17-19). Anytime God
reveals an idea to you, or use you as a channel to convey a vision to someone,
always have the heart of gratitude to God. After God has revealed the dream to
Daniel, he praise the lord of
Heaven (Daniel 2:19-23) don’t get carried away with the
gift, always appreciate the giver of the gift.
