TEXT: LUKE 19:13
God does not want any of His children to be idle in His
kingdom. He wants us to engage ourselves in the work of the kingdom; He wants
us to continue the work Jesus did on earth. We are instructed by God to follow
the footsteps of Jesus Christ, Jesus did not give up doing the work of the lord
Almighty that sent him to this world, through out his life time he was going
about doing good.
He told his disciples that we must do the work of him that
sent us, for night is coming when no one will be able to work (John 9: 4). This
means that as long as you are living; you cannot retire from doing the work of
God, you need to carry out the great commission that the lord Jesus sent us to
do. Our joy should be in doing the things of God, Jesus said “My food is to do
the will of him who has sent me and to finish His work (John 4:34). Jesus
delighted in doing things that would draw people to the kingdom of God.
Our text says “He called ten of his servants and gave them
ten minas, put this money too work he said until I come back.” As children of
God; nothing should stop us from doing things that will draw people into the
kingdom of God. You know the kind of gift that the lord has deposited in you;
it may be counselling, preaching, evangelising, helping and so on. Manifest these
gifts and never stop doing good as long as you are still breathing, and as long
as Jesus hasn’t come back. I pray that God will give us the grace to keep
working in the kingdom of God relentlessly in Jesus name.
