GOD CAN LOCATE YOU ANYWHERE

TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 16:1-3, 8-13
The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”
But Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.”
The Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate.”
Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.” Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the Lord chosen this one.” 10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David.
God can locate any vessel He wants to use from anywhere, you do not need to be a forerunner, popular, strong, rich or educated, before God can use you. You don’t need to have any qualification for God to use you for exploit in His kingdom, why? Because He qualifies the called. The bible says “God use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.” (1 Corinthians 1:27). If you are seen as able, capable and up to the task, people may not appreciate what God is doing through you because they will attribute the success to your human wisdom and knowledge. God prefer raising people that the world has written off that they cannot amount to anything. He does this to show to humanity that He is the only God that can bring out “throne out of the trash”.

The good news I have for you today is that God does not look at the things man looks at. Therefore don’t write yourself off. Though you are not known, you are unpopular, you are not connected to the seat of power in your nation, and you may be living in the most underdeveloped part of the world. Yet He can locate you as He located David; and bring you to forefront. When Samuel got to Jesse’s house and told him his mission, Jesse brought out all his “qualified” sons, but he did not think of David because he saw him to be too young and saw him as unfit for the anointing. David was left out of the plan until Samuel asked “are these all the sons you have?” The scripture says “the lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” David’s father looked at the outward appearance and did not enlist David to be anointed, but the lord that qualifies the called looks at the heart and sees what man cannot see in people. You may not be eloquent or vocal enough Like Moses, but when He is set to use you for His service, He will empower you and back you up. You may be a timid person like Gideon, you may be the youngest like David, your clan may be the least in your lineage, it has nothing to do with God, He will empower you and endow you with the courage that you need for the service. I pray for you today that no matter where you are located, the lord will locate you and bring you out to lime light in Jesus name. Put your trust in God, walk in His way and He will relocate you from the miry clay to the mountain top in Jesus name.

FREE OR FEE?

TEXT: MATTHEW 10:8
“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. FREELY YOU HAVE RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE.”
The scripture made it clear in James 1:17 that “every good and perfect gift is from God.” Jesus also said we can have nothing except it is given to us. All these scriptures and our main text made it known that man cannot boast to have anything for himself or herself except through God.

The power that is at work in you that you are manifesting today, was given to you by God. Are you using it to bring glory to His name? Or are you ascribing the glory to yourself by charging people to pay for it? Many miracle workers are in the world today, some are working for God while some are working for themselves. If you are favoured to be manifesting the GENUINE gift of healing, deliverance, and so on, do not think that it is by your power or by your doing; it is God that is at work in you! God is the only one that can heal and deliver no human being can do that. God is just using you as the channel to do His great work, “faithful is he who calls you who also will do it.” (1 Thessalonians 4:24). You are called to be the vessel or the channel to get the thing done, so do not ascribe the glory to yourself by charging people for healing. “FREELY YOU HAVE RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE”. Jesus made it clear that anytime we heal, cleanse leprosy, deliver, cast out demons etc, we should not charge money for it because it is given to us freely and we should do the miracles freely. Come to think of it, if you are not the one doing the work as 1 Thessalonians 4:24 made us to know, then why are you collecting money for it? Some “miracle working pastors” have turned their “victims” to ATM MACHINE! They have removed the “R” from FREE” and made it to become “FEE”. If you don’t pay for the “miracle” they will not pray for you, they charge exorbitant prices for the so called miracles that they do. They keep exploiting these vulnerable people in the name of miracle. This is a great sin against God, exploiting innocent people in the name of God! Commercialising the name of God and bringing insult to that great name that we all adore! These so called “ miracle working pastors have their various ways of exhorting money from people, some would say “ sow a seed if you want a change in your situation”,  “call in to this programme and pledge … and experience a 24 hours miracle.” This is not right, you don’t need to compel people to “vow, sow, or pledge” before you can pray for them. Instead of placing a price or condition on them, let it come from their hearts that “God if you do this for me, I will do that in return”. Don’t think for them and don’t lure them into giving before you can deliver to them what God has sent to them through you. When you do the work of God diligently, it is then that God will bless you bountifully. He will surely reward His people by blessing them; His blessing makes riches and adds no sorrow with it. If you want to make yourself rich by exploiting people through “miracle”, I pray you will not end up like GEHAZI and JUDAS ISCARIOT. If you have been charging for prayers and deliverance, from now on you need to stop and ask God for forgiveness. That miracle that God is doing through you is meant to be given freely because FREELY YOU HAVE RECEIVED, AND FREELY YOU MUST GIVE!

BE YOURSELF OR BE UNCOMFORTABLE

TEXT: (1 SAMUEL 17:38-40)
“Then Saul dressed David in HIS own tunic, he put a coat of armour on him and a bronze helmet on his head (trying to be somebody else). David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around BECAUSE HE WAS NOT USED TO THEM. I cannot go in these he said, because I am not used to them, so he took them off. THEN HE TOOK HIS STAFF IN HIS HAND CHOSE FIVE SMOOTH STONES FROM THE STREAM. PUT THEM IN THE POUCH OF HIS SHEPHERD’S BAG AND WITH SLINGS IN HIS HANDS (Being himself), APPROACHED THE PHILISTINE.”
God created each one of us uniquely, the bible says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God created you to be you! He did not make any mistake in creating you with all the features, characters and talents that He put together to become you. Some people are not satisfied with the way God created them; they are interested in becoming somebody else.
Trying to make yourself into what God did not design you for would only end in frustration. You are created for a purpose; all that you would need to fulfill that purpose has been embedded in you by God. The moment you try to change who God created you to be, all the potentials that God has put in you would not match what you are trying to RE-MOULD yourself into, then you may be malfunctioning (confused and unproductive).
When Saul dressed David with his own tunic, a coat of armour and bronze helmet, Saul believed because they worked for him (Saul) they should also work for David. Instead of David being comfortable and secure in the king’s tunic and helmet; he was uncomfortable! Why? Because they are not for him, he was not created or designed for that. When he took off the tunic and helmet and became himself by taking his STAFF, FIVE SMOOTH STONES, AND HIS SLING, he was confident to approach the giant of Philistine. The lesson here is that you may think that the values in you are of less importance or value to other people’s gift and talent, but that is what God will use to launch you out; like He used the inexpensive sling, stone and staff to launch David out by helping him to destroy Goliath. If he had gone in King Saul’s expensive tunic and helmet, he would have been defeated because he was not used to them. All the potential that will make you to become who God wants you to be are in you. Therefore be yourself and don’t try to be someone else, so that you will not be uncomfortable!

WHO CAN BE SAVED?

TEXT: MATTHEW 19:16-17, 20-21, 23-26
Now a man came up to Jesus and asked “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” why do you ask me about what is good? Jesus replied there is only one who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” (Matthew 19: 16-17).
All these I have kept, the young man said, what do I still lack? Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect go sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasures inn heaven.”
(Matthew 19: 20-21).
“Then Jesus told the disciples, I tell you the truth it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked “WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?” Jesus looked at them and said “WITH MAN THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.” (V 23-26).
Our righteousness is like filthy rag in the eyes of God, we cannot claim anything for ourselves, and our righteousness came from God. He commanded us to live holy and be righteous without SPOT or WRINKLE. He wants absolute holiness from His children, it is truly difficult to attain this like Jesus mentioned in his conversation with his disciples in the above text (V 23-24). Despite the difficulty in attaining this level of holiness, yet it is attainable THROUGH GOD. When the disciples were surprised to hear what Jesus said about making heaven, they asked a question “WHO CAN BE SAVED?” he answered them by saying “WITH MAN THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE, BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”
You cannot work out your own salvation with your head knowledge and wisdom; you need the grace and mercy of God to be able to walk in the will of God. We need God to give us the wisdom and enable us to live above sin. At times you do some things that you don’t see or count as sin, and that could be what would make you to be disqualified from the race marked out for you. The rich man asked Jesus what else he needed to do to make heaven, he was confident that he was in line with all that God commanded (He had obeyed all commandments). I am sure that he would be expecting Jesus to say “well-done you are on your way to heaven” but Jesus told him to go do more by selling all his belongings. This illustrates that though we obey all commandments and we are making all effort to avoid sin; there may be things that can hinder us that we may not notice or pay attention to. This is where God’s grace and mercy comes in, “NOT THAT WE ARE COMPETENT IN OURSELVES TO CLAIM ANYTHING FOR OURSELVES, BUT OUR COMPETENCE COMES FROM GOD.” (2 Corinthians 3:5). We need God to reveal ourselves to us, to know what we need to do and what we ought not to do.
Don’t be boastful let your competence come from God; it is by His grace that we can live to please Him. Humanly speaking it is difficult; but with GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

SPEAK HIS WORD

TEXT: JEREMIAH 1: 9-10
“Then the lord reached out and touched my mouth and said, Look, I have put my words in your mouth today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdom, some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow. Others you must build up and plant.”
The scripture made us to know that we are joint heir with the son (Jesus). The Almighty God has delegated His power and authority to us to use to the glory of His name. if you are genuine child of God, the power of God is certainly operating in you. Some people could not exercise this kingdom right because they are ignorant of who they are in Christ. The bible says “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1John 4:4). God is dwelling in you therefore you can do ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM!
The lord has given the power to speak His word with confidence to do and undo things; He has put His word in your mouth to uproot and to tear down every unfruitful works of darkness in your life, household, and in your nation at large! He has given you his word to destroy and overthrow every unpleasant situations and all spiritual wickedness standing against you. Therefore do not close your mouth, speak to that unwanted situation and experience a divine turn around in your situation, remember God honours His word more than His name
(Psalm 138:2). Therefore base your prayers on His word.
God has also given you His word to build up your life and to plant every good seed that will bring forth good fruits in your life. You can do this by speaking positively into your situation and life. Personalise the word of God and with faith; speak it prophetically to your life. The book of proverbs says life and death are in the power of tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21). With His word you can pull down every stronghold attacking your destiny, household and your nation. With the word of God you can build your destiny, you can call your heaven to open unto you; you can call forth your success and breakthrough.  In fact, you can turn around all negative situations by speaking the word of God! All you need to do to experience a turnaround in your life is to SPEAK HIS WORD and wait for God to turn the word spoken into ACTION! When you speak His word, He acts on it.
For you to speak His word, you need to be conversant with His word, this can be achieved by studying the scripture, meditating and memorizing it and apply it to your daily life. (Joshua 1:8) says we should commit the word of God into your heart. MAY THE LORD BACK HIS WORD IN YOUR MOUTH WITH AUTHORITY AS YOU SPEAK IN JESUS NAME. DON’T KEEP SILENT, KEEP SPEAKING HIS WORD!
